(Posh Winter Outback Trip)
Speaking of winter... most mammalia will turn inward and start hibernating... but not me... errrr... us...
On August 19th , two members of my family and I eventually gone off to Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, it was about the end of winter and we planned to have 3 adventurous weeks in the outback area... well, not exactly outback, but we're not in the city either :)
This time, we took approx 13 hours flight from Surabaya to Brisbane through Bandar Sri Begawan, Brunei. You can always opted for a shorter route with ranging prices, check out each airlines website or you can go http://www.orbitz.com/. If budget is priority, you can always landed in Gold Coast (closer to Brisbane anyway) as AirAsia fly there from Malaysia at a lower cost (maybe... better make sure :p).
Now if anyone been wondering what to do in the winter time..well..these pictures might be best to describe (yeaaahhhh babyy..) but first let me tell you that when you go over to Australia, you can't missed these things:
Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast |
I love and adore Australia for its beaches... one of my favorite things to do and definitely are in my 'things to do before I die' list is actually sunbathing, swimming or just wandering around these magnificent beaches in Australia...
for you single ladies out there: spotting a hot hunky chunky handsome surfer bloke is a bonus :p
not only that the view is astonishing, but I love beaches because I feel that I can be so free when I am in one.
I can walk, I can run, I can get wet, I can get dry, I can be a builder, a researcher, a photographer, etc..etc...etc the lists goes on and on... but the best part of it is that we can be all that...under the glorious sunshine! it just a great atmosphere and a great feeling and it fits for everyone :) !!
2. The Lamington
Taste don't lie...that Lamington is all about... it's Australian and it tastes GREATtttt...click to get the recipe and try to make one yourself..pretty easy... but yeah, took time :)
Yummy Yummy for my Tummy |
..or Gelato... or anything between the two will do just perfectly fine.. Set aside any seasons..They are just perfect at any time..!!
Ice cream |
Gelato |
Other than that..here's how I spent a winter tail holiday in the Coast::
Starting a day in the nail spa wouldn't hurt..especially when you have the right ride..!!
As the idea is to have a holiday, get a crazy nail color that makes the world or my niece in the manner of speaking goes "whooaaaaaa..(weirdo)", and that's a great complement coz nobody is normal when they are holidaying... :) right?? or is it just me...?!
Anyway, since it is relatively a short visit, i didn't get the proper inside peek of which food to try, places to stay or to go, well, not so many...however, you can always do one of the science' fundamental techniques which is Trial & Error, or visit Google (he knows everything everywhere) or just hop into one of Tourist Information Centre, as far as I concerned, Sunshine Coast is a tourist friendly place, so there you go...
Enjoy!!
Lucky me, I have some member of family who happen to be Australian...in Sunshine Coast (noooiii...not Steve Erwin... nor Skippy). They took us around and I spotted plenty of various meals from Turkey going around to India and plenty of cafes serving (God knows how many type) of Teas, Coffees and Chocolate drink. Sadly, I didn't take a step into any pub or niteclub this time so couldn't really tell but it's all good here when you are over 18 and can prove it (ID)... just like me, enjoying beers in any place they sell it.
Cheers mate!
Alright, sober up. Australia is great on its surface and under, that is why we pay a visit to Underwater World in Mooloolaba. Check these out:
Megadon |
Face 2 face finally :) |
Under Belly |
Baby sea cucumber |
Pick Your Own (PYO) |
My ginger man |
Berry crazy |
On and all the trip was great.. been to several places like Eumundi market, Ginger Factory where they also have Bees show and honey testing in addition from the ginger, Bli Bli Castle and several shopping centre. They all are great tourist attractions but another thing that I love about Australia is their Strawberries, compared to Indonesian Strawberries, The Aussies got bigger and juicier Strawberry
yuuummmm...so of course we went Strawberry picking :)
Overall the trip was fun and it was so overwhelming that I gained 2K unconsciously :)
But it's good to go somewhere different from where you originated, good for the mind and the weight gain apparently...I meant the experiences in which it also reminded me of a saying by a wise man (I supposed), that "the world is a book..one who does not travel it...read only one page"
- Cheers -
