Et ce tra..

For some times back I was reminded about how fun it is just being a feminist...being girly, being spoilt, giggling, cooking and most of all baking :)
I am so darn good in baking :) I love making cakes coz to tell you the truth, I am so sucks in cooking (meal)...I have no idea why...everything I made ended up like non-eatable substances labelled hazardous to human n humanity.

This is one of my favourite recipes I got somewhere in the internet and it is so good (I have modified it)... I’ve made it and I got complement for it :) of course you have to make it with love hehehhe...baking with love is the key ingredient.

What I made actually is Apple cake, one of the most famous traditional cake and it is pretty easy to make (no need for an engineer :) only a boy could do it)
the main ingredient –apple- is common fruit we can find almost everywhere on earth throughout the year and according to my experience, you don’t need any heavy utensils for it...just a bowl to mix up everything with a wooden spoon will do..(of course you will still need an oven to bake) :)

Here we go:

Apple Cake ala DnA

What you need:

·         A pinch of love :)
·         1 pound (454 grams) apples (here I use any available apple :))
·         1-2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
·         1 1/2 cup (195 grams) all purpose flour
·         3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated white sugar
·         1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
·         1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
·         1/4 teaspoon salt
·         6 tablespoons (85 grams) unsalted butter melted
·         2 large eggs
·         1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
·         2 tablespoons milk
·         1/3 cup (50 grams) raisins (usually we put more)

What to do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C)
  2. Butter or spray with a non stick cooking spray, an 8 inch (20 cm) square baking pan and then line with parchment paper or wax paper.
  3. Peel, core, and coarsely chop the apples. Toss with 1 – 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
  4.  In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), combine: flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  5.  Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract and beat until fully incorporated.
  6.  Fold in the raisins, and chopped apples. If the batter is thick, stir in the milk.
  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for about 35 - 45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool
If you're doing it rite, you might get a result like this

..and if you like, serve with softly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Cover and refrigerate leftovers. Reheat before serving. Makes 6-8 servings.

Good Luck Doc....!!! :) :) :)
